Learn what the City of Beach is doing about Emergency Preparedness:
How will residents of Virginia Beach react and fare in the event of an emergency or disaster? The key to riding out any storm is proper planning and preparation. That’s the focus of a program called, “People Get Ready.” “People, Get Ready,” hosted by former local television news anchor Jim Kincaid, highlights the importance of advance preparation for emergency situations. Information includes how to create a family emergency plan and a disaster supply kit, and knowing what to do if our area is impacted by an emergency event.
“People, Get Ready” has both regional and local components. The video focuses on information that applies to all citizens across Hampton Roads to include: evacuation routes, where to find official local emergency information and how to prepare your home.
The program will rebroadcast daily on VBTV Channel 48 (Cox) 45 (Verizon) 119 (Cavalier) at the following times throughout hurricane season:
Sunday - 8:30 p.m.
Monday -7:30 a.m.
Tuesday and Friday - 11:30 p.m.
